Get to know Caro (me!)

“I found that the more truthful and vulnerable I was, the more empowering it was for me.”
— Alanis Morissette

so glad you're here
☺︎

There’s a little post-it by my desk that says "look, feel, respond". That’s how I approach every session. With a background in fine art and a BFA in photography, I’ve spent years training my eye to notice light, movement, and emotion. I see the way you hold each other, the gestures, the glances, the rhythm of your family, and I shoot from there.

My goal is simple: to create photographs that feel alive. Images with soul, warmth, and a timeless quality that never fades with trends. Whether it’s a maternity session at golden hour, a cozy in-home newborn session, or a family day full of joy and chaos (because there will be chaos lol), I want you to look back and feel the emotion of that day as if you were right there again.

Before a shoot, I often revisit the work of photographers I admire like Peggy Nolan, Elinor Carruci, Sally Mann, William Eggleston 〰️ artists who remind me that the most extraordinary parts of life happen in the ordinariness of it.

Books, music, and film also shape the way I see the world. All About Love by Bell Hooks was a transformative read, You’ve Got Mail is my forever comfort movie, and Alanis Morissette is my Dalai Lama.

Miami’s lush, tropical energy is the backdrop I get to call home. I love the way morning light shimmers on the glassy water during westward winds (y'know that time when everyone calls out of work to get to the beach) and how sunsets drape the city in colors that even the camera can't quite capture. When I’m not shooting, you’ll find me shopping at thrift, water coloring, playing with resin, cooking and drinking wine 〰️ often all at the same time ◡̈

At home, I share life with my husband Alex (also a photographer), our daughter Cielo, and our cavapoo Chestnut (the firstborn). Cielo has taught me the importance of accepting help when it’s offered, and Chestnut has taught us patience, especially when she barks while Cielo naps...

We also love to camp, hike and be in nature every chance we get!

I truly love every kind of session for different reasons, but there’s something sacred about photographing a mother-to-be. I liken it to being in the presence of a deity, because women are gods. The life-giving energy we carry with understated grace never ceases to amaze me, and every time I’m behind the camera I feel humbled — I bow to you.

And yes, I’ll always have my Mamiya 6 close by. It’s my most trusted piece of equipment and the one that keeps me grounded in my love of film.

 ⟢  If I weren’t a photographer, I’d probably be a sommelier
⟢  My guilty pleasure shows are Sex and the City and Downton Abbey
