Artist-Led Dinner with Reniel del Rosario at Primary Projects | Miami Event Photography
On September 4, 2025, I had the chance to photograph a special evening at Primary Projects (@primaryprojects) in Miami, hosted by Fountainhead Arts (@fountainheadarts). This was the very first in a new series of artist-led dinners pairing Fountainhead alum artists with local chefs to create immersive experiences.
The evening celebrated Reniel del Rosario (@adrenieline) on the eve of his exhibition Reniel Is Here. Reniel, who joined Fountainhead Arts as a resident in 2024, is known for reimagining everyday spaces through ceramic installations. For this exhibition, he recreated Miami’s iconic fruit stand Robert Is Here entirely in ceramic, transforming the gallery into a playful and thought-provoking “market.”
The dinner was a collaboration between Reniel and Chef Jonathan Jordan of @harbourclubmiami, who designed a four-course menu inspired by produce from Robert Is Here and flavors from Reniel’s Filipino heritage. Guests dined among colorful ceramic fruits and objects, then left with a piece of Reniel’s art to take home — a perfect extension of the exhibition’s theme.
For me as a Miami event photographer, evenings like this highlight what makes the local art scene so unique: the blending of storytelling, flavor, and community energy. From the vibrant tablescapes to the cocktails to the laughter of guests “shopping” for Reniel’s ceramic fruit, every moment was an opportunity to capture art in action.
One of my favorite aspects of this exhibition is how accessible it felt. Too often, art can seem like something reserved for the wealthy or the elite 〰️ something to look at but never touch or own. Reniel’s installation turned that idea on its head. By recreating an everyday market stand and even sending guests home with their own ceramic “fruit,” he made art feel approachable, collectible, and woven into daily life. And therefore, it reminded me that art is at its most powerful when it makes people feel included 〰️ like they, too, can be part of the story.
Reniel Is Here is on view at Primary Projects in Miami through October 4, 2025.
This evening came together thanks to the vision of Francesca Nabors of @fountainheadarts, @primaryprojects, artist @adrenieline, food by @harbourclubmiami, and the support of partners @lalospirits @windstarcruises @law_levy @wearebrightland @theelcarajo @calma_floral @acquapanna, with production by @niki_frsh and @infinite.nat.
As I continue photographing events in Miami, I’m also excited to connect with communities in Greenville, South Carolina, where my family and I will be relocating to soon! Whether it’s an art opening, a dinner like this, or a private celebration, I love bringing the same intentional eye to every event.
If you’re planning an event in Miami or Greenville and want thoughtful, documentary-style coverage, I’d love to help tell that story.
